The proposal deals with:
Yearbook:  Article 1  Section: 1.6.1.1  Page: 3
The section/paragraph/sentence indicates what is to be added/deleted/changed to the current Bylaw/Approved Ruling:
ADDITIONS are in all capital letters. (Changes/Deletions are in parentheses.)

Board of (Control) DIRECTORS. The judicial and administrative authority of this Association shall reside in a Board of (Control) DIRECTORS, which shall be composed of one representative from each district.
The section/paragraph/sentence that needs to be added/deleted/changed would read as follows:

[Also impacted by this language change would be change from “Control” to “Directors” in the following bylaws and approved rulings: 1.3.2; 1.4.2; 1.5.1.3; 1.5.2; 1.5.2.1; 1.5.3.7; 1.5.3.8; 1.6.1.2; 1.6.1.3; 1.6.1.4; 1.6.1.5; 1.6.1.6; 1.6.2; 1.6.2.3; 1.7.1; 1.7.2; 1.7.4; 1.7.5; 1.10.1; 1.10.2.4; 1.10.2.5; 1.10.2.12; 1.10.2.13; 1.10.2.15; 1.10. 2.16; 1.10.2.17; 1.10.2.18; 1.10.3.6; 1.10.3.11; 1.10.3.12; 2.5.4; 2.6.1.1; 2.6.2.3; 2.8.1; 2.8.2; 2.8.2.2; 2.11.1; 2.11.2; 2.11.5; 2.11.6; 2.13.1; 1.13.1.1; 2.13.4; 2.13.4.4; A.R. 2.13.4; 2.15.2.1; A.R. 2.15.1; 3.1.2; A.R. 3.3.1.2; 3.3.4; 3.3.5; 3.3.7; A.R. 3.3.7; 3.3.7.1; 3.7.3; 3.9.1.1; 3.10.1; 3.11.4.8; 3.12.4.1; 4.5.6; 5.6.1; 5.6.2; 6.3.3; 6.6.1; 7.4.1; 7.4.3; 7.6.1; 8.3.1; 8.5.1; and 9.7.1.]
Cost Analysis of Proposal:
No anticipated cost.
Rationale for the proposed change:
There are those who get “hung up” on the name Board of Control. Even a state senator quizzed the NSAA Board and staff about that moniker, implying that the membership was “controlled” by the Board. Other states—Missouri, for example—have switched to a less imposing title of Board of Directors. While the term Board of Control has been used for nearly 100 years, it is deemed important to minimize the negative perceptions that the term conveys to some persons.
