What Information is Collected and how is it Used?
The NSAA collects information for use in its in-house officials’ database. This information is used to register high school officials and to contract them for the activities the Nebraska School Activities Association sponsors. The information gathered is used only for the purpose of contracting the individual for contests, both athletic and non-athletic. The information needed includes: home address, phone number, activities in which to register, number of years a person has been registered in those activities, and if an e-mail address can be used as a contact source. This information is kept in a database and used to contract officials for any NSAA sponsored activity. Security is of the utmost importance to the NSAA. This information is protected by GeoTrust, a leader in internet security.
Sharing Information with the Government or As Otherwise Required by Law
The NSAA may be required by law or government agency to disclose information provided to the NSAA and will do so if required by law or subpoena, or for enforcement of or claims regarding our purchase agreement license.
How is Information Secured?
The NSAA secures personal information submitted by using reasonable efforts to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, or accidental loss or destruction of information.
Other communications with NSAA via email or snail mail may not be secure unless NSAA advises that security measures are in place prior to sending information. Therefore, there may be a risk of choosing to communicate with the NSAA through these means, and the NSAA requests that sensitive information not be sent through these means.
