The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) is proud to announce Wisner-Pilger High School as the Pump & Pantry School Spirit Award recipient for the month of September.
The School Spirit Award Program features NSAA member schools sharing photos of their students and fans emphasizing positive support and excitement at NSAA events via social media. Winning photos will be selected monthly and may be featured throughout the year on the NSAA website, additional publications and at NSAA State Championships. As the September honoree, Wisner-Pilger High School will also receive a $250 gas card provided by Pump & Pantry to support team and fan travel.
The NSAA is thrilled to name Wisner-Pilger as the School Spirit Award winner. The photo submitted was taken at the Wisner-Pilger Tornado Relief Festival. The students of Wisner-Pilger banded together with almost twenty other schools to put on the festival utilizing their individual talents. Over $2,500 was raised for the northeast Nebraska community to assist with recovery efforts. The photo features many of the students involved. “The School Spirit Award allows the NSAA to recognize team and community spirit outside of the competitive arena.” said NSAA Executive Director Rhonda Blanford-Green.
Since last month’s launch of the School Spirit Award Program over thirty NSAA schools have submitted photos through Twitter. The quality and content of the photos submitted speaks volumes about the school spirit in Nebraska. Follow @nsaahome to see the excitement and spirit across Nebraska!
